IIC

Invisible-in-the-canal (IIC) hearing aids are small, custom-made devices that sit deep in the ear canal to amplify sound and help with hearing loss:
- Design: IIC hearing aids are the smallest and most discreet hearing aids available, and are designed to be almost undetectable by others.
- Function: IIC hearing aids receive sound as it naturally enters the ear canal and amplify it towards the eardrum. They allow the ear to conduct its natural function.
- Suitability: IIC hearing aids are suitable for people with mild to moderately severe hearing loss.
- Features: IIC hearing aids are usually fitted with a removal line to help with insertion and removal. Some IIC hearing aids have noise cleaning technology to help with speech information in noisy environments.
- Battery: IIC hearing aids have small batteries that need to be changed more often than those in larger hearing aids.
- Challenges: The small size of IIC hearing aids can be challenging for wearers with dexterity issues, and they cannot accommodate manual volume or memory controls.
